title:{Rec}

Throughout my life, I seldom watch horror movies and I can simply count the number of times with my fingers.

Last night, Iain and I went to catch 'Rec'. Iain is a huge fan for gruesome, horror, zombie movies which was a total no no for me. I decided to 'sacrifice' myself to accompany him as way to be fair. I was keeping my finger cross, hoping that I'll not scream out my of wits.

Verdicts on the movie was pretty good but I found the pace slow. Somehow, I was kind of irritated by the way the film was directed and film which in turn, causing headache for Iain and me. Thank God that I didn't scream in the movie but was gripping Iain's arm tight. Poor darling... Ha ha..

title:{Surprise, surprise!}

Since 14 Nov till yesterday 16 Nov, there was ample of surprises for me. 14 Nov was the last day of my school week and we had prize giving for the students and surprise awards for teachers!

14 Nov 2008
Woke up with sore throat and felt feverish and popped some pills prescribed by doc. Despite having MC, I still head down to school for my prize table duty. After giving out academic awards to students, teachers were called out to receive awards too. None of the staffs know about this including us. I could say that the school is good at keeping secrets. From the stage, I saw Iain queueing up to receive his awards for 'Supporting Teacher Award'. At that moment, I thought to myself, alas, my hubby's hard work is all well paid off. Everyone knows that he's arrowed for every event for ICT, sound, video/photo taking and all sort of last min work. Iain would never say no and would gladly take up the job without grumbling. That's the reason why I love him more than ever. Good attitude determines your altitude. Shining for Christ in the marketplace.

Much to my surprise, my name was called out for the 'Promising New Teacher Award'. I was so happy and felt more affirm than ever for my calling. Out of 6 new teachers, I'm the only one who received this award. God is always so gracious towards me and assured me in times of doubt. Moreover, there was also addition of $100 cash bonus which amounted to my monthly building fund pledge. God is indeed a Jehovah Jireh. Love you, Agapa!

In evening, we went to Orchard hotel, MOE DND and we were seated right behind our principal, Mrs Lim. Based on my observant, Mrs Lim seemed to be in good mood and I was strongly prompted by the holy spirit to break our wedding news to her. Bracing our courage, Iain and I turned around and spoke to her.

Iain and I: Mrs Lim, we have something to share.

Mrs Lim: (Smiling) Yes, Iain and Sandra, what do you want to share with me?

Me: Mrs Lim, I hope that I won't give you a shock or heart attack. Ermmm... Promise me that you won't get angry.

Mrs Lim: Ok. I promised I won't be angry.

Iain: We are together and we are getting married next year.

Mrs Lim: OOOOOOhhhhhhhh!!! Congratulations! Silly girl, why would I be angry? I have been hoping that the young teachers in my school will get married soon! So when is your big day?

Iain and I: 4 July 2009 and chinese dinner will be in 2010.

Mrs Lim: Why so late? Make it earlier.

Iain: We are trying to save money, moreover, we need pay for our house.

Mrs Lim: (laughs) Oh yes... keep your wedding simple and save up more your house. Where are you guys having your ROM?

Us: Mandai Orchid Gardens. Outdoor, garden theme.

Mrs Lim: OOohhh... so romantic, just like Iain. hee hee... Talking about getting angry, am I the last person to know? If i'm, I will be angry.

Me: No no, you're not. Mr Goh, Ariel do not know.

Mrs Lim was laughing and got excited. She was happy that she wasn't the last person to know. I felt so relieve after breaking the news to her. When Mrs Lim gripped hold of my hands, somehow, I felt a sense of assurance and affirmation that I've made the right choice marrying to Iain.

15 Nov 2008
Darling surprised me by popping at my door with a birthday cake and sang birthday song. I was blushing all the way and bowed my head down shyly. Daddy and mummy were giggling behind me and Iain still continued singing. Goshhh.... must be hard on Darling. Hee hee......

Went to church for service and had a fab fellowship with my CG.

16 Nov 2008
My birthday! Had breakfast with Iain family along with my family and Yeye. Iain's eldest sis, Evelyn, treated us as my birthday gift. So sweet of her! I've felt so loved by his family. Attended Victoria's baby shower. Victoria looks like her daddy. Cute!
Brought Hui and Jun Wen out for movie-Madagascar 2. Grabbed 2 tops from Club Marc sales. Met up with Liana and she bought a bangle and ear ring for me. I love the bangle.. so me! Ha ha.. And the ribbon ear ring is sooo nice!!! keke.. Liana knows me best!

title:{Finally! Phew!}

After 3 hectic weeks, finally everything has more or less settled. Yesterday was the stressful day of the whole curriculum-Mark processing day. My class cockpit was totally screwed up and it keep prompting the main server-incomplete. I was really puzzled and wondered what's wrong with my class result tabulation. After much commotion, Iain pointed out the error-missing SA1, CA1, input for the new student. Managed to get Miss Oh to settle it for me.

Today, I received my class report slips and was signing it. Then, I realised that there's error in printing for my 1st 8 students remarks. The new remarks did not overwrite the old ones. I was totally freak out. Thank God for his grace and mercy. Miss Oh, overall in charge for cockpit, was kind enough to help me to look through the system and re print it out for me. #

Hmmm.... I guess I'm just technology jinxed. Still remember the times, when I had observation for my practicum in St nic, the projector screen was down when I wanted to use it. The best part was that my colleague was using it 5 mins ago! Jinxed, jinxed, jinxed...... Tsk, tsk.... Lesson learnt-ALWAYS print the remarks before confirming it with the level manager. Phew...... Thank God that everything managed to end smoothly.

Tomorrow is the last day of shifting our stuffs out of our cubicles. For the past 2 weeks, Iain and I have been trying to pack our stuffs in the midst of peak session. I'm glad that my stuffs have already cleared and all nicely packed in the classroom. I wonder how's Iain going to pack his stuffs since he has lots of 'junks' at his desks. Poor darling, still overseeing the school prize giving day rehearsal.

Time for me to go now!
